Blackacre RPG Illustrations
Here are the illustrations I did for Blackacre, my tabletop game passion project. As you can see, it’s completely black and white. This is for several reasons. The first reason is that I wanted to get as much art done in as little time as possible. The second reason is that I originally planned it on being a zine (before it ballooned into ~100-ish pages) and thus easy to print. Lastly, I wanted to challenge myself by making the art look as minimal and clean as possible.
Seven Star Tempest
Seven Star Tempest was a webcomic I started plotting out and making around 2019. It started out as a Sci-Fi portfolio project before becoming a self-contained buddy cop story. Unfortunately, I ended up abandoning it for the simple reason that I had no idea how to write a detective story. I may end up resurrecting this one at a later date either as a oneshot comic book or as a tabletop game setting. The story would follow a clone detective and his android partner named Winston on top of a massive space station with its own self-contained ecosystem. The setting is supposed to be somewhere in-between Cowboy Bebop and the Expanse, except only Luna and Mars being partially colonized, while Earth is undergoing total environmental collapse. Unfortunately, I’d still have to think about it more to glue it together into something coherent.
V.I.T.R.I.O.L.
V.I.T.R.I.O.L. was a portfolio project from around 2017 where I tried to create a setting for a hypothetical game to show prospect employers that I know what I’m doing (I didn’t). It was supposed to be a turn of the century setting where you play as members of a secret society trying to combat a legion of monsters being summoned to a small town. While I’m not ashamed of it, it never *clicked* with me, nor it did with potential employers. Still, I hung onto the idea and eventually rolled up the stuff I like into Blackacre.
Fanart
Here you can find fanart of original characters I did for other people. Usually when I do those I want to give them my own twist, but preserve just a bit of the original art style. The character’s owners can be seen in the image description.
Miscellaneous Drawings
Some miscellaneous designs I did over the years, mostly during the pandemic and mostly for various discord art contests.
Self Portraits
What’s the point of learning how to draw if you can’t muster to make your own self-portrait. I have a semi-tradition of making a self portrait every year, often with a twist. In recent years I want to go into a more stylised direction, but overall they are all quite representational.
On the other side of the realism spectrum, there is the skeleton ‘sona I use as an avatar. Sometimes it’s drawn by me, sometimes it’s a gift from friends.
